Community Activities for Everyone to Enjoy
Our community garden consists of 30 plots tended by individual community members as well as many more beds used to provide fresh produce to the St. Leo's Food Bank truck that stops in the neighborhood.
In 2018, SBC planted blueberries, raspberries, and grapes.
New for 2019, we will be installing a hoop-house in order to extend the growing season.
Our first meet up for 2019 will be on Parks Appreciation Day. Stay tuned for more information.
Springbrook Mobile Food Bank
St. Leo's mobile food bank makes three stops every Saturday in the Springbrook neighborhood.
10AM-10:45AM San Francisco & True Lane (outside Centerforce)
11AM-11:45AM Lincoln Ave & Boston
12pm-12:45pm Springbrook Park
From July through December of 2018, SBC held FREE Community Dinners at Centerforce on the first, third, and fourth Fridays of the month. These 16 community meals served over 1,300 meals!
The Community Meals have ended, but we hope to secure funding to resume the meals in April at Springbrook Park. Check back for updates.
2018's Community Meals were provided by a generous grant from the Pierce County Health Department.
